Land tenure was identified by member countries as one of the six priority areas to enhance smallholders support and discussions during the Forum underscored the strong link between land rights and sustainability and the myriad challenges confronting smallholders in navigating titling procedures and securing associated financing.

To this end, Co-Facilitator countries, namely the United Kingdom and Malaysia, organized a seminar on June 18th to bring together member countries committed to identifying and scaling promising land tenure arrangements that help smallholder farmers transition to sustainable commodity production.

Speakers included representatives from the Government of Brazil, Land Tenure and Indigenous Peoples.

Discussions addressed legal and institutional innovations, cross-country experiences, and pathways for strengthening government support for more secure tenure regimes.
